This show is quite fascinating, as it's about the WWII Japanese Internment, interracial marriage and the racist overreactions by the government and society right here in California, to Uncle Gunjiro's marriage to a prominent Caucasian Christian woman.
7: Stephen next interviews Brenda's husband, composer / performing partner Mark Izu. His film scores include Steven Okazaki’s Academy Award-winning Days of Waiting; Wayne Wang’s Dim Sum Take Out. His compositions are characterized by his seamless integration of jazz with other music traditions, his mastery of cross-cultural instrumentation, and his ability to compose in many musical disciplines.
